Birth Plus is a full-service doula agency connecting expecting and new families with birth and postpartum doulas, plus childbirth education, continuity of care, and a community of support that carries you from pregnancy all the way through those early weeks at home.

  • Find the right doula: We do the matchmaking so you don’t have to search alone. Our agency partners you with a birth or postpartum doula, or both, who fits your personality, your birth plan, and your family’s needs.

  • Take the right class: Through our network of trusted childbirth educators, you can find and book the right class right from our website. One less thing to figure out on your own.

  • Feel supported the whole way through: From your Discovery call to your last postpartum check-in, we offer true continuity of care. And because our doulas support one another, you benefit from the knowledge and experience of our entire team, not just your chosen doula.

Find your birth support match from our team of dedicated, evidence based, professional doulas.

Our birth doulas support families at CHI Health St. Elizabeth and Bryan Health East in Lincoln, and in surrounding hospitals in Seward, Crete, and Beatrice. Fees start at $1,200.

Choose a postpartum doula and experience a softer, gentler landing with your new baby.

Our postpartum doulas support families residing in the Lincoln, Nebraska area. Fees start at $35 per hour.

Who we are

Birth Plus is led by Joyce Dykema and Melissa Hnosko, experienced doulas and perinatal professionals who have been supporting Lincoln families for more than 20 years combined. Together, we are a team of birth and postpartum professionals, working together in Lincoln, Nebraska. We provide families with education, support, and peace of mind throughout the perinatal period.
